The Cyprus Youth Clubs Organisation (KOKEN) is the central coordinating body of youth clubs.
The Cyprus Youth Clubs Organisation, KOKEN as it is more commonly known, is the largest non-governmental, non-profit youth organisation (NGO) in Cyprus. It is the central coordinating body of youth clubs across Cyprus and was founded in 2008, at the time when the need for qualitative upgrading and modernization of the institution of Youth Clubs was identified.
KOKEN is dedicated to the development, coordination and promotion of Youth Clubs. The mission of the organisation focuses on creating a dynamic environment that encourages volunteering, participation, education and social interaction among young people.
The purpose of KOKEN is to provide opportunities and possibilities for education, creating and managing opportunities and developing young people as active citizens. It sets objectives that include the development of skills, the promotion of social awareness and participation in activities that enhance personal, group and social development.
KOKEN is an organisation that, in cooperation with its members, governmental bodies, non-governmental organisations, the business world and civil society, designs, develops and promotes the implementation of effective measures to empower young people.
As an organisation, KOKEN is governed by its members and is also accountable to its members, guided by the principles of democracy, integrity and transparency.
WE ARE THE YOUTH CLUBS OF CYPRUS
We are voluntary, autonomous organisations created by young people for young people
We are the “Youth Clubs”. Each Youth Club is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit, non-partisan voluntary youth organisation created by at least ten young people aged 13-35. This group consists of people of all origins, religions, gender, disability, sexual orientation, socio-economic and/or educational backgrounds.
As Youth Clubs we have a community and/or special character and we are members of the Cyprus Youth Clubs Organisation.
Youth Clubs are long-standing cells of healthy engagement in communities and remote areas of Cyprus, where young people have the opportunity to grow, mature, cultivate responsibility, take on administrative responsibilities and initiatives, coordinate activities and manage human relationships and interactions.
The empowerment of young people’s personalities and the fact that they work in a cooperative and organised way to achieve goals with a view to active citizenship are the most important achievements of the Youth Clubs. In Cyprus there are currently more than 70 Youth Clubs, members of KOKEN, which are divided into associations and informal youth groups.

VOLUNTEERS
OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS
As a Board of Directors we represent the Youth Clubs. We serve voluntarily and unpaid.
All of us are up to 40 years old on the day of our election and our term of office is two years.
No member of the Board of Directors shall be entitled to serve in the same position for more than two consecutive terms of office as defined by the principle of rotation.
EXECUTIVE SECRETARIAT
The Executive Secretariat of the Cyprus Youth Clubs Organisation is the cornerstone for the smooth operation and administrative support of the organisation.
Responsible for coordinating day-to-day activities, ensuring that all processes are carried out efficiently and on time. The Executive Secretariat is responsible for record keeping, correspondence management and the organisation of meetings, facilitating communication between departments and external partners.
In addition, she is responsible for drafting and processing official documents and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. The secretariat also provides support to the organisation’s leadership, helping to make decisions and achieve strategic goals.
Through the effective management of her duties, she is instrumental in enhancing the efficiency and overall success of the organisation.
