EXECUTIVE SECRETARIAT

The Executive Secretariat of the Cyprus Youth Centres Organisation is the cornerstone for the smooth operation and administrative support of the organisation.

Responsible for coordinating day-to-day activities, ensuring that all processes are carried out efficiently and on time. The Executive Secretariat is responsible for record keeping, correspondence management and the organisation of meetings, facilitating communication between departments and external partners.

In addition, she is responsible for drafting and processing official documents and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. The secretariat also provides support to the organisation’s leadership, helping to make decisions and achieve strategic goals.

Through the effective management of her duties, she is instrumental in enhancing the efficiency and overall success of the organisation.

MANAGEMENT

The Director of the Cyprus Youth Centres Organisation has a central role in the strategic direction and operation of the organisation. Responsible for the planning and implementation of youth programmes, coordinates activities and ensures the smooth operation of the Organisation and its members.

Directs working groups, manages resources and develops partnerships with other organisations and bodies. In addition, the Director oversees the evaluation and improvement of the services offered, ensuring that they meet the rights and needs of young people.

It also represents the organisation at national and international level, promoting its mission and objectives.

Nicolas is the Director of KOKEN

He has been working in our organization since 2009. His background includes positions in non-governmental organisations (NGOs), companies and academic institutions.

Since 2011 he has been serving at the Cyprus Youth Clubs Organisation as Director. In 2014-2015, he was in charge for 18 months of the operation of a special service aimed at providing information, guidance and support to victims of corruption and complaint management at Transparency International – Cyprus.
His research interests include the identification, development and evolution of leadership and strategic management, with particular emphasis on NGO management.
He has managed a large number of European and national projects and holds a Master’s degree in Management with a specialisation in Leadership in relation to Emotional Intelligence from Kingston London University. Nicolas is a Vocational Training Instructor CYQF/EQF5, Cyprus Human Resources Development Authority (ANAD)

YOUTH WORKERS

The youth workers of the Cyprus Youth Clubs Organisation are distinguished for their extensive experience and specialised knowledge in the field of youth.

Having worked with a variety of youth groups, they understand the needs and challenges faced by young people in Cyprus. Youth workers are highly trained in psychology, social work and educational methodology, enabling them to design and implement programmes that enhance young people’s personal and professional development.

Through continuous training and participation in international seminars and conferences, they keep up to date with new trends and best practices in the youth sector.

Their effectiveness is confirmed by the successful actions and initiatives they have developed, contributing to the creation of a dynamic and supportive community for young people in Cyprus.

Evanthia is a Youth Worker

She is responsible for the support and coordination of Youth Clubs in the districts of Nicosia, Larnaca, Famagusta and the Morfou district, as well as for the management and implementation of programmes, actions and campaigns organised by the organisation.

Areas of expertise and interest: Her areas of expertise focus on creating, coordinating and implementing discussion groups on social norms and gender equality.

Studies: Psychology (BA), School Counselling and Career Guidance (MA), Postgraduate Diploma in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy.

Christina is a Youth Worker

She is responsible for the coordination and support of the Youth Clubs in the Limassol and Paphos Districts. As well as for the coordination and implementation of programmes and actions undertaken by the Agency.

Areas of expertise and interest: Leading and coordinating teams, Empowering teams with fewer opportunities.

Studies: Sociology (BA), Life Coaching certificate

EUROPEAN PROGRAMMES MANAGERS

Our team has experience and specialised knowledge in the implementation and management of European programmes.

It consists of professionals with an understanding of the regulations and procedures governing European programmes, as well as best practices to maximise the benefits for the youth of Cyprus.

Through their participation in many projects, they have gained substantial experience in proposal writing, resource management and networking with European partners.

The group focuses on developing and strengthening young people’s skills, promoting mobility, education and employability.

Their effectiveness is confirmed by successful partnerships and the implementation of innovative programmes that contribute to the social and professional development of young people.

Marina is a European Programme Project Manager

She is responsible for the coordination and implementation of programmes, actions and campaigns organised by the organisation. Manages European programmes at all stages.

Areas of expertise and interest: her research interests focus on the study of digital technologies, the environment and digital content creation.

Studies: Master of Business Administration (MBA) Oil and Gas Management, UOL, English Language and Literature (BA), University of Cyprus.

Dimitra is a European Programme Project Manager

She is responsible for the coordination and implementation of programmes, actions and campaigns organised by the organisation. Manages European programmes at all stages.

Areas of expertise and interest:Educational workshops on photography, social media and digital image. Human resource management and team building.

Studies: Master of Business Administration (MBA), Sociology (BA), University of Crete and Photography (BA). Vocational Training Instructor CYQF/EQF5, Cyprus Human Resources Development Authority (ANAD)

CONSULTANTS - EXPERTS

The team of external consultants and experts of the Cyprus Youth Centres Organisation plays a key role in strengthening and supporting the work of the organisation. Made up of experts with years of experience and in-depth knowledge in the fields of youth, education, social work and programme management, this team provides valuable guidance and advice.

The external consultants work closely with the organisation’s internal staff to develop innovative programmes, evaluate existing activities and improve services. In addition, they provide expert knowledge and suggestions for the formulation of strategies and policies that meet the needs of young people. They are also involved in running seminars and training workshops, transferring their knowledge and skills to young people and staff.

Through their contribution, the team of external consultants and experts enhances the quality and effectiveness of the work of the Cyprus Youth Clubs Organisation.

Dr. Marios Argyrides is Professor of Counselling Psychology at Neapolis University in Paphos and a Registered Psychologist with the Cyprus Register of Professional Psychologists.

She holds a PhD in Counseling Psychology from Tennessee State University and a Master’s degree in Applied Psychology from the University of South Alabama, USA. He worked as a Lecturer at Tennessee State University and as a Specialist in various public and private universities in Cyprus. He has also worked in several consulting centers at universities abroad (Florida State University, Vanderbilt University, University of South Alabama, University of South Alabama, Tennessee State University).

He has international publications and presentations in international conferences. He has participated in several research projects in the USA and in COST and Erasmus+ projects in Europe and directs the research laboratory on appearance and nutrition at Neapolis University (EARL). She is a member of the Cyprus Psychological Association and the American Psychological Association. He is also the Editor-in.Chief of the European Journal of Counseling Psychology.

Finally, he is the psychologist in charge of the voluntary organisation MediCleft, which deals with people with clefts and craniofacial abnormalities.

Dr. Argyro Fella is Assistant Professor at the Department of Pedagogical Studies, University of Nicosia. She completed her postgraduate and doctoral studies in Psychology at the University of Cyprus.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Education-Public Education and a minor in Psychology. She worked as a researcher at the Learning Disabilities Laboratory of the Centre for Applied Neuroscience of the University of Cyprus. Her research focuses on the study of specific learning difficulties (e.g., predictors and risk factors) and their treatment, with emphasis on the use of eye movement recording techniques and cognitive evoked potentials.

She is a researcher or collaborator in international research projects funded by both international and national organisations, such as the European Union (e.g., COST MultiplEYE, MECO) or Cyprus (e.g., Recover programme of the Cyprus Youth Organisation). She publishes her research papers in peer-reviewed journals and presents her research at local and international conferences.

She has taught in public and private schools in Cyprus and participates in teacher training programmes. He was an active member of the Cyprus Youth Clubs Organisation.

Antonis has been a teacher, trainer and project manager for the last twenty years. His areas of expertise focus on primary and adult education, EU youth policies, non-formal learning, youth work and project management.

Relevant experience:

Professional experience in teaching, in public primary schools. 1998 – present Coordinator of the Adult Education Programme of the Ministry of Education in the Limassol region. 2021 – today

Member of the expert group of the European network Out of the Box International 2014 – today

Supervision of the Youth in Action Programme at the Ministry of Education of Cyprus 2012-2014

Co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Youth Associations Organisation. 2006 – 2013

Member of the Board of Directors of the European Confederation of Youth Clubs (ECYC) 2012-2014.

Co-founder and Board member of NGO KEY, a local NGO working on community development and lifelong learning. 2013 – 2018

Long-term experience in the planning, management and implementation of various local, national, international seminars, exchanges and trainings in the fields of education and youth.
