The Programme
The Youth-Well project aims to promote resilience, inclusiveness and active participation of young people by connecting youth – especially those who are underrepresented, marginalised and/or vulnerable – with youth organisations and youth professionals at EU level. Its objectives include connecting young people from participating countries, empowering them to take action for their mental health and active participation in society and democracy, and encouraging them to implement their own initiatives and projects that support mental health and active citizenship.
Youth-Well will work with young people and all relevant institutions and networks to:
Adopt the priorities of the European Youth Together programme.
Strengthen the capacity of the youth sector for transnational cooperation.
Support prosperity, active citizenship, network building, European values and European citizenship, democratic participation, democratic resilience and social inclusion.
To achieve these goals, Youth-Well aspires to create a network dedicated to youth participation. The project will provide the space and tools to create structured cooperation, both online and face-to-face, between youth organisations, public authorities and society. At the same time, it will create cross-sectoral initiatives for young people to take action, and develop resilience, critical thinking and active citizenship skills for young people and youth professionals, with a focus on those who are underrepresented or have fewer opportunities.
Project deliverables:
- Innovative, interactive blended learning package that includes formal and non-formal education activities and methods. It aims to provide innovative participatory methods for youth professionals to foster resilience, critical thinking skills, media literacy and citizenship skills in young people.
- A series of activities to empower professionals and youth organisations to help young people – especially those with fewer opportunities – to develop resilience and critical thinking.
- The creation of a youth network (YouLead YouthNet), hosted in an online co-working space and community of practice (CoP). It will involve the recruitment of at least 140 Youth Supporters, with the aim of creating cross-sectoral partnerships and initiatives through online and face-to-face activities. The network will promote quality and innovative work with youth, solidarity, inclusion and advocacy for mental health and active citizenship.
- Two mobilities for young people and youth professionals to engage and empower underrepresented young people, create or strengthen partnerships and implement joint projects across Europe.
- A series of social events, campaigns and activities, both in person and online, to engage, connect and empower young people in social and political life.
- A policy recommendations report, which will include a collection of lessons learned, good practices, challenges and policy recommendations from youth. The aim is to contribute to the implementation of the EU Youth Strategy, as well as the new Mental Health Initiative currently underway.
- More than 40 young people and youth professionals/trainers/leaders will receive a Youthpass Certificate, to assess, certify and recognise the knowledge and skills they have acquired through their participation in the project.
The Youth-Well project will run from January 2024 to November 2025.
