The Programme
The main objective of the SISY project is to support youth workers, specialists and organisations in enhancing the soft skills of young people with learning differences, such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) and Executive Functioning Disorders, through the strategic use of sport. By equipping youth workers with the necessary knowledge and tools, the SISY project aims to integrate sport into informal and non-formal learning, offering more enriching learning experiences for young people with learning challenges.
In addition, the SISY project aims to achieve specific objectives, such as:
- Upgrading quality and innovation in youth work practices by integrating sport into non-formal and informal education for young people with learning differences.
- Enhancing the employability of young people with learning differences by using sport to develop basic soft skills that are particularly useful in the labour market.
- Promoting cross-sectoral cooperation and networking through a dynamic, pan-European Community of Practice – a collaborative network of youth professionals and organisations specialising in learning differences across Europe.
- Encouraging young people’s active participation in society, with a focus on those facing learning challenges.
- Connecting, empowering and actively involving young people with learning differences, fostering a sense of inclusion and community.
- Increasing the participation of young people with learning differences through a variety of activities such as sports activities, narrative videos, community discussions and social events.
