INTEGRATION ”ACCELARATE YOUTHSELF”

The “Accelerate YouthSelf” series of workshops for young people, which aimed to inform and prepare participants for the challenges of the labour market, was a great success.

The participants had the unique opportunity to develop knowledge and skills through experiential workshops and practical exercises, which were implemented by renowned professionals and high-level HR executives.

The objectives of the programme were to gain knowledge for searching for the right job, Creating an attractive CV, Enhancing Personal Branding – how to effectively promote the skills and competencies a young person has in the labour market, Acquiring presentation skills in a job interview, Gaining self-awareness / Enhancing self-confidence, Cultivating and highlighting mental resilience, Activating the mechanisms of responding to workplace demands / adaptability and Digital skills /

The programme consisted of two identical workshops of two days’ duration. The first workshop took place on 22 and 23 October 2022 at the Sentido Sandy Beach Hotel in Larnaca and the second workshop took place on 12 and 13 November 2022 at the Rodon Hotel in Agros.

The workshops were organised in the framework of the European Year of Youth, in a collaboration between the Cyprus Youth Clubs Organisation and the Office of the Commissioner for Citizens and the Lifelong Learning Institute.

Through three structured modules of the workshop the themes were developed:

CareerYouthSelf | It was about developing skills and gaining knowledge to improve or change a young person’s existing career.

JobYouthself | It was about developing skills and acquiring knowledge to start and make the best use of a young person’s job opportunities.

BusinessYouthSelf | It concerned the development of skills and knowledge for starting/ developing a new business activity of a young person.
