GENERAL ELECTORAL ASSEMBLY COKE 2024
The annual General Assembly of the Cyprus Youth Clubs Organisation took place on 21 April 2024, hosted in Skarinou. The General Assembly elected the Board of Directors of KOKEN for the period 2024-2026.
The General Assembly was attended by the representatives of the Youth Clubs that are members of KOKEN and was addressed by the First Vice-President of the Cyprus Youth Council Antonis Tabouras and the member of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Youth Organisation, Konstantinos Hadjizaharia.
Kyriakos Tsioupanis, the President of the organisation, referred during his speech to the challenges that the organisation had to face in the period 2023-24 but also to the upward progress in recent years. In particular, he referred to the issue of the regulation of the operation of Youth Clubs, as the aim is to clearly differentiate Youth Clubs from other associations and organisations which illegally use the term “Youth Centre” today, as they do not meet the standards and specifications, while they do not have young people as their main core.
The President of KOKEN stressed that it is essential for the state to protect and enhance the rights of young people by putting in place the appropriate means, systems and procedures to promote, increase participation and formulate policies in a transparent and clear manner.
During the meeting, the report of actions and the new website of the Youth Clubs www.kentraneotitas.org were presented.
Through the general assembly, the members of the organisation were informed about the developments concerning the legal and financial issues of the youth centres and the new programmes of the organisation as well as opportunities for participation in local and European actions that will be implemented in 2024.
During the meeting, a review of actions was held, as well as the ratification of the election of the new members of the Council of the organization. The new council is composed of:

Finally, the outgoing members of the Board of Directors were honored for their long-standing contribution to the organization.
